Our Partnerships
Employers
Each local Labour Force Development (LFD) agency in the SITAG network determines, designs and delivers skills and employment programs, services and activities that may be able to support the specific needs of employers. If you have a desire to recruit First Nations employees in a particular area of the province, reach out to the LFD operating in that region to see what supports and partnership opportunities may be available.
Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC)
The programs and services delivered by the SITAG network are funded through an Indigenous Skills and Employment Training (ISET) Program agreement with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
The ISET Program is designed to help Indigenous people improve their skills and employment opportunities, and to assist Indigenous service delivery organizations to design and deliver job training services to First Nations, Inuit, Métis, and urban/non-affiliated Indigenous people in their communities.
Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT)
SIIT provides administrative services to SITAG as well as career pathways for ISET Program clients through its Career Centres, and JobSeries and JobConnections programs.
- SIIT’s nine Career Centres offer career counselling and job coaching, resume building and interview skills, referrals to post-secondary training and apprenticeship, and connect job seekers with potential employers through industry partnerships and province-wide employment opportunities.
- SIIT’s JobSeries provides pre-employment and pre-training opportunities in group settings for people who require personal skills development, need assistance to develop career plans, are seeking employment or education, or need to enhance work skills to maintain employment.
- SIIT’s JobConnections unit provides a mobile career service that visits rural and First Nation communities in buses equipped with career coaches, laptops and wireless to provide information, workshops, and assistance for employment and post-secondary training.
