Indigenous Labour Market Information (ILMI) Project
The purpose of the Saskatchewan First Nation Labour Market Inventory survey project is to:
- Assist with community planning and program development
- Measure impacts of community labour force development strategies
- Prepare the First Nations workforce for the future
- Inform policy development and funding decisions for job training and employment services
Who Can Take this Survey
People who are:
- Status First Nations People
- 15 years of age & older
- Who have not completed a survey in this campaign year
Who Owns the Data
Data ownership and access are governed by clear and respectful protocols:
- Each agency retains full ownership of the data it collects
- Agencies will have access solely to their own data and not to data collected by other agencies
- All data will be securely stored in the TAS ILMI Survey Database to uphold data integrity, confidentiality, and privacy

Who is Using the Data
The data collected through the ILMI survey is being used to support strategic planning and analysis by:
- Participating agencies and their local labour force development offices, to inform community-specific workforce initiatives
- The SITAG ILMI data analysis team, for reporting purposes and to assist first nations in conducting their own data analysis
- Employment and Social Development of Canada (ESDC), which receives the data in and aggregated and anonymized format for federal-level planning and policy development
How the Data Will Be Used
The Information gathered through this survey will be analyzed to:
- Develop tailored employment and training programs
- Enhance access to skills development and job placement services
- Advocate for better resources and opportunities for First Nations job seekers
- Provide insights to your local labour force development office to strengthen First Nations workforce
Where Can you Take the Survey
- Surveys are captured by First Nations and Tribal Councils of the SITAG Network

- Additional eligibility criteria may apply depending on the agency administering the survey
